Self help to help you succeed in life | You Exceeded! Self ...

Hi there everyone! Thanks for checking out my very own personal blog section! I?d say it?s about time for me to share the things that I?ve personally gone through in life on this website- and it only took me almost a year!

I started Self Exceed in pursuit of trying to reach out to those who were either looking for hope, inspiration, personal development, or just about any change that they are willing to take in their life.

I?d like to take this section of mine to devote my own life and share with you guys the things I had to overcome. Hopefully you guys find this section just as inspiring and enjoyable like main page of Self Exceed. As a note, this section will tend to be more personalized by my character but regardless, it shall follow similar topics as the many articles you guys read on the home page ?or forever hold its truth!

So really, what made me create this self-help website? Well for one thing, it wouldn?t be called ?self-help? if you weren?t in it for any kind of help in life. Everybody (including myself) needs some kind of boost, whether it?s a mentor, someone that gives encouragement, or so on. Nowadays, people think ?self-help? are for those with psychology issues and while that may or may not be the case, my website was intended to give an overall encouragement to keep you going in life. So whether you do have self issues-I know I do- or you?re looking to kill time by reading some article on the internet, you have landed on the right page!

I have always been interested in this kind of topic. Generally, I think myself as a unique individual and that we all should aim to be the best of who we can be. After all, you are who you are, and no one is going to be a better you than you yourself. If you are able to do this, this is what I define ?success?.

Being successful comes in many shape and form. While many people relate success with money, that is not always the case. A person like Steve Jobs is not successful because he has money, but because he changed the world through technological innovation. After reaching that net income of a billion, it?s doubtful that he was in it for the money.

But to be successful, everyone needs a guide, a boost, and help. Your success can be as small as waking up early in the morning, changing the way you act around people or anything small and perhaps too embarrassing to share with others!

Success is made EVERYDAY. The way I see it is, if you can look back and compare this day or year from the past, and say that you are a better person now that is SUCCESS.

But true success gives off happiness, excitement, and that feeling where you think you?re on the top of the world. To experience this kind of success, it must be something that you achieved that you may have thought to be unattainable once. I will be talking more about success in the future because I want you ALL to feel like you?re on top of the world-with me!

Thanks again for checking out my personal blog section. If you have any ideas, opinions, or anything that you would like for me to talk about, comment below!

Computer Program Reconstructs Heard Words From Brain Scans

My concern, long-term, is quite the contrary.
If this kind of interface works, we'll rapidly be obliged to think *everything* in words, painfully.

The situation will be back to the medieval times where reading meant reading aloud -indeed the writing was intended to be read aloud. There is a very interesting moment around that time when very scarce educated people start considering reading without talking, for instance, and this is documented (in writing!;-) by witnesses from the time, who are baffled.

Infections Might Raise Stroke Risk in Children: Study (HealthDay)

WEDNESDAY, Feb. 1 (HealthDay News) -- Many children who suffer a stroke had some sort of an infection in the days leading up to the stroke, a new study says.

However, childhood stroke is rare and parents shouldn't be unduly alarmed by these findings, the researchers noted.

The researchers analyzed data collected from 2.5 million children enrolled in a health plan in California between 1993 and 2007 and identified 126 cases of childhood ischemic stroke, which is caused by reduced blood flow to the brain. These cases were compared with a control group of 378 children of similar age who didn't suffer a stroke.

The study found that 29 percent of the children who suffered a stroke had an infection in the two days before the stroke, compared with 1 percent of the control group children.

Thirteen percent of the children who suffered a stroke had an infection three to seven days before their stroke, compared with 2 percent of the control group children.

The increased risk of stroke did not continue after the first month of infection, according to the study slated for Wednesday presentation at the American Stroke Association meeting in New Orleans.

The children in the stroke group ranged from infants to adolescents. The average age was 10.5 years and the oldest child was 19. The researchers found no difference in stroke between girls and boys or among ethnic groups.

The researchers did find that acute infections were more likely to trigger stroke than chronic infections.

"These were predominantly minor acute infections and represented a variety of infections, including upper respiratory infections, urinary tract infections and ear infections. No particular type of infection predominated," principal investigator Dr. Heather Fullerton, director of the Pediatric Stroke and Cerebrovascular Disease Center at the University of California, San Francisco, said in a stroke association news release.

In the United States, the incidence of stroke in children is about five per 100,000 per year, the release noted.

"Childhood infections are exceedingly common, while childhood strokes are uncommon," Fullerton said. "Parents should not be alarmed at the findings of this study. We suspect that there are rare genetic factors that may place some children at risk for this uncommon effect of common infections."

Infection is a known risk factor for ischemic stroke in adults.

Because this study was presented at a medical meeting, the data and conclusions should be viewed as preliminary until published in a peer-reviewed journal.

PFT: Peyton 'is the best I?ve ever seen,' Eli says

Super Bowl FootballAP

Bill Belichick has seen a lot of players come through the NFL in his 37 years of coaching. There haven?t been many quite like Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul.

?He?s very rare,? Belichick said Tuesday.

That word ? rare ? came up four times from Belichick during the one minute he discussed Pierre-Paul. JPP?s combination of ?athleticism, size, and explosiveness? sets the second-year player apart.

Belichick was asked if Pierre-Paul ever made plays on film that made Belichick stop and say ?wow.?

?Probably about five times a game he has plays like that,? Belichick interjected before the question was even out. ?He comes out of nowhere and makes a tackle. Or jumps ten feet in the air and bats down a ball. Or makes an athletic move at the line of scrimmage while keeping his balance. He?s a rare athlete.?

Pierre-Paul?s personal journey from Boston Market to the NFL is remarkable. The Creole speaker describes his background as ?very rough.? But the football journey the Haitian Sensation has taken in two short years is amazing in its own right.

Teammate Justin Tuck said Pierre-Paul was ?very raw? when he entered the league.

?On a scale of 1-10, I would say 1,? Tuck said.

One year later, Pierre-Paul is a leading Defensive Player of the Year candidate. He finished with 16.5 sacks, 86 tackles, and more game-changing defensive plays than anyone in football. Teammates?Osi Umenyiora, Mathias Kiwanuka, and Tuck all credited Pierre-Paul?s improved understanding of the game.

?He does actual pass rush moves now,? Umenyiora now. ?Not just overpowering offensive linemen.?

Pierre-Paul dismissed that idea.

?I don?t have nothing man,? he said with a laugh. ?It?s whatever comes to mind. . . . It?s ?what?s the next move if this one doesn?t work?? My next move is whatever comes to my head.?

Pierre-Paul has learned more about the game, but we see a simpler explanation for his breakout year. The guy never seems to get tired. His effort is the same in the middle of the fourth quarter as it is in the first quarter. Draft analysts questioned Pierre-Paul?s motor coming out of college, but his hustle sets him apart.

Combine his talent with that sort of effort and you have the potential for greatness.

?He?s a supreme athlete. He plays the game with a lot of hustle. He finishes plays. If you watch him from game-to-game, he throws his body around,? Patriots guard Brian Waters said. ?There aren?t many people in the history of the game that can some of the thing he does athletically. But there?s a lot of talented guys that haven?t worked as hard or hustle as much.?

Pierre-Paul genuinely doesn?t seem to understand the buzz around him. He?s the type of supremely gifted athlete that doesn?t see himself as special. He doesn?t realize how much better he can get.

?It?s just the will to play. You gotta keep going full strength, full speed. You know people are watching, so put on a show,? Pierre-Paul said.

A lot of people will be watching Sunday. Don?t be surprised if JPP puts on a show.
